How Can Freedom Be Bad?

There are people who abuse freedom. For example, because we have freedom of speech, some people take advantage of that in order to demean or insult others. This reduces human dignity and has lead to problems, especially in schools. How many times have we heard students committing suicide because of bullies that tease and demean them? Sure, low self-esteem plays a role in these types of behavior; however, no one should blatantly and consistently demean others sadistically to the point where they feel totally helpless. We are all humans and so should respect one another’s freedom and dignity. Finally, because we are all free, severely flawed human beings see this as an opportunity to assert dominance over others. Examples of these include murder and rape. Rape especially attacks freedom because many of the times, the attacker seeks to assert dominance over the victim. Whatever the reason may be, it takes away freedom. With freedom come those who seek only to take it away from others. This is a form of psychosis that some disturbed or changed people deal with.
