Response to the Protestants...

" I mentioned before that protesting was meaningless. I stand by this statement. I understand that the Belizeans of this country feel strongly about this belief but what did they expect to happen from protesting. The modernist and post modernist views of the world are what overlook and will overlook the way the world interacts and plays out. I believe that the Belizeans in our society, even though gays are not truly socially acceptable, can allow them to be a part of our community as long as they don’t greatly influence our society or affect us. That would be the more appropriate and mature response to homosexuals visiting our society. I do not agree that Belizeans are backward for doing what they did but could have been more subtle in their approach."
