One ethical dilemma I can remember is that during my first year in sixth form I was offered marijuana by friends. Although this would count as an ethical dilemma to most people, to me it wasn’t even a real problem. I have been taught that any kind of drug used outside of illnesses could only reap negative effects in the long run. Therefore, the obvious answer to me was no. However, I did think for a moment that it would be the first and last time I would try it. However, if I took it, where would be my boundaries? I would never be able to truthfully say that I have never taken illegal drugs. So in the end, I never took it and was proud of my decision. I would have done the same thing if I had another chance because I would engage in the same thought process as before and with the even greater knowledge that I have now.
I am proud of you. You did make the right choice. You know what they say is true about children. If you bring them up the right way, guide them and let them know right and wrong. They may not seem to listen but they do. Then when they grow up the evidence is there.
